The Queerness of Queerness starts with an excerpt from Federico Fellini’s film City of Women, revels in Sun Ra’s queer Space is the Place aesthetics and pays tribute to his singer June Tyson. This leads into a tirade by Judy Chicago against women’s ignorance of theory (originally directed at her team for Dinner Party) and ends in a campy escapist fantasy world, with Stefan Brecht’s description of the performances by Jack Smith from his book Queer Theatre.
