A READER - a visual archive

The three posters that are called "A READER - a visual archive" are first of all a visual work. The idea is to show and create a field of desire through a combination of images and other materials that exists only in an in-between, that has to constantly re-install itself in the fissures and gaps that any discourse leaves. The posters also represent a realm of politics that deal with the development of strategies to denaturalise normative concepts of identity, bodies, sex and gender. Another aspect of the work is its function as a (portable) context for my work in general and as a queer and feminist fanzine in particular.

A READER is a work consisting of three full colour Posters (3x DIN-A0) showing a display of various materials and an indexical reference system on the back. It is distributed within various contexts and venues throughout 2006/09 for free. It was launched at the Feminist legacies and potentials in contemporary art practice symposium in March 06 in Utrecht, a feature in Kunsthalle Exnergasse in May, part of the City of Women Festival in Ljubljana and included in the exhibition of
"IF I CAN`T DANCE..."
in De Appel, Amsterdam in 2006, as well as in the exhibition re.act.feminism at Akademie der Künste, 2009 and at "Become a Member" at MOTHER Festival in Tel Aviv.
