The sequence of videos in 'city of women' contain rather strange, erotically charged situations.Two performers appear as hybrid creatures; they are different versions of the same thing. They wear red wigs, body stockings, black nylons, and garters. Erotic references and props are used to casually create a space for carnevalesque efforts concerning representational, love, sexual, and similar relations.

The working title 'suffragette city/ city of women' already suggests a mixed message: Quoting the title from a Fellini movie, seemingly dealing with a fear of castration - obviously caused by the 1970s women's movement – and the title of a song by David Bowie. In this project I am dealing with misogynist fantasies reflecting on my own internalisation of the 'male gaze' and whether or not there are ways to escape or transgress it.
